How to Get to Mexico City and Move Around

Quick answerCDMX has two airports: MEX (Benito Juarez, 20 min from Roma/Polanco) and AIFA (Felipe Angeles, 60 min). Uber and authorized airport taxis are the safest options. Inside the city, the metro and metrobus are cheap and efficient. Avoid hailing taxis on the street.

From the airport

From MEX, Uber to Roma or Polanco costs $10 to $15 and takes 20 to 40 minutes. From AIFA, Uber takes 60 to 90 minutes and costs $20 to $30. Authorized taxi booths inside the terminal are slightly more expensive but reliable.

Metro and metrobus

CDMX metro is $0.30 per ride, with 12 lines covering most of the city. Metrobus is the BRT and reaches Reforma, Roma and the airport. Buy a recargable card at any station for both.

Uber and taxis

Uber is the safest and most convenient option for tourists. Don Cabify and Didi also work well. Avoid hailing taxis on the street, especially at night.
